Nupur and Rajesh Talwar, who were serving life sentence in the double murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, have been acquitted by the Allahabad High Court. The judges said there is “no irresistible conclusion” against the Talwars. Avirook Sen wrote the book ‘Aarushi’ after researching the details of the murder case. Reacting to the verdict, Sen said what the Talwars have gone through is unimaginable and it speaks of their strength that they have held firm. The Talwars were sentenced to life imprisonment by the CBI court in 2013. 14-year-old Aarushi was found murdered at her residence in Noida on May 16, 2008 and Hemraj’s was found on the terrace the next day.
